We are accustomed to learning about the history of Black Americans; slavery, its abolition and the civil rights era. Or particular African figures and their journey to freedom. But being an integral part of British history, we ask; Why don’t we know about Black British History?
The contributions of Black Britons is seldom reflected in History classes, books, shows or Museums.
Are Black Britons uninterested in their history?
Does the responsibility lie on the Government/Schools to tell our history?
